We want to ensure all passengers taking a cruise with us have an opportunity to enjoy all the amazing facilities onboard. For this reason, it is important that all ships cater to those needing accessible features. Take a look below to find out what cruise lines have to offer when it comes to accessibility.

Ambassador Cruise Lines – Guests who may need to use their mobility aid to manoeuvre around the cabin and who require the use of an adapted bathroom must occupy a Disabled cabin. Standard cabins have raised door sills to enter the bathroom, with some having a bathtub rather than a walk-in shower. The doors of our standard cabins are also narrower than those of Disabled cabins, so larger mobility aids may not be able to pass through.

Guests are required to store mobility devices in their cabin and will not be permitted to leave them outside in corridors and stairwells, or have them stored elsewhere on board.

Any mobility device being taken onboard, must not weigh more than 45kgs in total and must not exceed 75cm in width, if occupying one of our adapted cabins.

Carnival Cruise Line – At Carnival, we’re dedicated to offering a fun and memorable cruise experience to all our guests. Our team of trained crew members provides attentive service and our ships have a variety of accessible features to ensure our guests with disabilities have a relaxing and enjoyable cruise. We are working on additional modifications to our ships and services to further enhance the guest experience. Look for updates to this page periodically for more details.

While we provide attentive service, we do not provide one-on-one personal care assistance, and all guests must be able to provide such care for themselves (e.g., performing personal tasks such as eating, dressing, toileting, bathing, and getting around the ship). Once on board, our crew will not provide any assistance with such personal tasks.

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines – Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines warmly welcomes guests dependent on the use of a wheelchair/scooter for mobility on all vessels within our fleet. However, with the very different nature of a holiday at sea when compared to one on land it is essential you are accompanied by an able-bodied companion who is responsible for providing any assistance that you may require both on board and ashore. On board we are unable to offer any sustained or long-term assistance.

MSC Cruises – Guests can inform MSC Cruises of any special requirements by filling in the relevant form (Special Needs Form) .This information should preferably be provided at the time of booking, or, at the very latest, no fewer than two working days before departure.
This allows us time to provide the best possible service for our guests, which depends on the facilities and resources on board each ship. If we are notified after this deadline we will do everything in our power to provide the services requested, but this may not be possible at such short notice.

Norwegian Cruise Line – For guests who cannot walk on their own, a wheelchair, scooter or walker may be the primary mobility assistance aid for getting on and off the ship. Norwegian Cruise Line has a limited supply of wheelchairs onboard. In order to accommodate our guests, Norwegian Cruise Line wheelchairs are reserved exclusively for embarkation and disembarkation situations. If you will require regular use of a wheelchair, we strongly recommend that you bring your own wheelchair with you or make rental arrangements with Scootaround. The limited supply of wheelchairs onboard are available for emergency rental arrangements and are on a first come first serve basis.

P&O Cruises – A cruise is a uniquely different holiday experience. Every ship has its own doctor and small medical team, but we don’t have access to the same facilities that a resort or hotel might offer. With your enjoyment, comfort and safety in mind, please carefully consider your on-board needs, disabilities, care requirements and health to ensure our holidays are the right choice for you.

To ensure we have sufficient capability to support all our guests at all times, it is important that you tell us at the time of booking if you, or your travelling companions, require assistance in the unlikely event of an emergency
