Here at Vision Cruise we want all of our passengers to feel comfortable on their holidays, and we recognise that some of our customers smoke. Although many cruise lines are non-smoking, they do have designated smoking areas for those passengers who wish to smoke onboard. Below is an outline of the various cruise line policies when it comes to smoking onboard.

Royal Caribbean

Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking areas which are signposted and include balconies and ashtrays. Smoking inside the ship or inside your cabin is not permitted.

If the ship has a cigar lounge, pipe and cigar smoking is allowed only in this area. If there is no cigar lounge, a separate area will be designated.

P&O

Smoking is not permitted in cabins, on cabin balconies or in public rooms. However is permitted in designated areas of the open deck. Electronic cigarettes are not permitted in public areas however they can be used in cabins and on cabin balconies.

Celebrity Cruises

Cigarette, cigar and pipe smokers are permitted to smoke in designated areas of the ship, however it is not allowed in cabins or anywhere inside the ship. These policies also apply to electronic cigarettes.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Most public areas on-board an NCL cruise are smoke-free, however there are designated signposted areas where smoking is permitted. Cigarette smokers are permitted to smoke on their cabin balcony although pipe and cigar smokers are not.

Smoking in the on-board casino is only permitted where ashtrays and signposts are displayed. Cigar bars may be available on some ships for pipe and cigar smokers.

Carnival Cruises

The starboard side of Carnival ships has numerous smoking areas for cigarette and cigar smokers. Certain ships in Carnivals fleet allow smoking in jazz clubs, casinos and dance clubs in the signposted designated areas. Smoking of any kind is not permitted in staterooms or on balconies.

Fred Olsen

The interior of all Fred Olsen ships are smoke-free. There are designated smoking areas on the outside of the ship. Passengers are also permitted to smoke on cabin balconies.

MSC

Cabins, staterooms and most public areas on-board MSC ships are smoke-free, however there are several bars that will permit smoking in designated areas. Signposts are positioned around the ship’s deck where smoking is permitted.

Princess Cruises

On a Princess cruise designated smoking areas are signposted throughout the ship – with smoking permitted in cigar lounges, some nightclubs and casinos, as well as on deck. No smoking is allowed in cabins, staterooms or on balconies. Electronic cigarettes can be used throughout the ship, with the exception of the dining areas.

Cunard

Designated smoking areas on-board Cunard vary between each ship, however smoking is not permitted inside cabins or staterooms on any ship in Cunard’s fleet. Some ships do have a cigar lounge which is reserved for cigar and pipe smokers only. Smoking is also not permitted on balconies. Electronic cigarettes are permitted in cabins and on balconies but not in any public areas on the ship.

Holland America

Most Holland America ships are smoke-free indoors, including staterooms and cabins. Passengers are able to smoke on stateroom balconies and inside the casino, as well as in the Seaview Bar and the outside decks. Cigar and pipe smokers are restricted to smoking on the outside decks and on stateroom balconies.
