Emerald Radiance Christened in Portugal
Emerald Waterways has held the christening for the latest addition to its ever-growing fleet, in Portugal on Friday 16th June.
Radiance becomes the line’s seventh Star-Ship, and will be navigating the Douro, which will give guests a chance to enjoy the famous Portuguese climate, and beautiful views. Capable of carrying 112 guests and 37 crew members the 89 metre long river cruise ship has been designed to complement the jaw-dropping scenery that is visible from both banks of the Douro.
Brand-new additions onboard Emerald Radiance include the Riverview Suites. These are located at the rear of the ship on the Horizon Deck and boast floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer unspoiled, panoramic vistas of the river as it flows by.
Radiance has been purpose built for Portugal’s warm climate, so the Sun Deck provides guests with an opportunity to sample the sun and gentle river breezes. You’ll also find the Serenity Pool here, which is a perfect place to enjoy a few lengths under the Iberian sky.
Gill Williams, a UK travel agent will be serving as the godmother due to her exceptional sales for the river cruise brand, which has had a busy 2017. Following on from Radiance, Emerald Liberté’s christening will be taking place in Lyon in September and this follows Emerald Destiny’s christening last month in Vienna.
