Princess Cruises Announces 2019 Japan Programme
Princess Cruises has announced its 2019 programme in Japan, which will be onboard Diamond Princess, who will be returning for her sixth season.
The season which will be between March-November 2019, will feature 60 departures on 40 different itineraries, and will see Diamond Princess visit 41 destinations in seven countries which means more ports than ever before.
“Japan is a culturally rich country with an abundance of local entertainment, historical sites and culinary experiences for our guests to embrace,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia group president. “Cruising is the best way to explore this island nation and Princess has been recognized the number one international cruise line in Japan.”
The season will include some first time calls to ports such as Gamagori, Matsuyama and Miyako and three voyages will include viewing of the Kumano Fireworks Festival. The festival is one of the most famous shows in Japan and will be visible from the decks of the Diamond Princess.
Five of the voyages will have late night stays in Aomori whilst the Aomori Nebuta Festival is on, which features traditional music, dancers and float figures.
If guests are after a different climate and culture Princess will have a variety of Southern Islands cruises which will call to Okinawa and Ishigaki or Miyakojima and Tapei, Taiwan.
